We have currently SUSPENDED the 2021 – 2022 Awana program. We are working on being able to staff this ministry for 2022-2023. We apologize for being unable to conduct the planned 2021-2022 Awana program.
AWANA is an international, nondenominational Bible-centered children and youth ministry.
“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.” – 2 Timothy 2:15
AWANA fulfills the Great Commission to make “Resilient Disciples” who go out and make resilient disciples. This is a fun ministry that builds lasting faith foundations where children ages 3-18 come to understand the fundamental Gospel truths early on and grow to have a heart to love, obey, and serve Jesus Christ. We pray that the Word of God truly becomes a light unto their feet and a lamp unto their path (Psalm 119:105).
Amid times of change, chaos, and an uncertain future, we believe the church needs to focus on relational, scriptural, and experiential child discipleship. The Resilient Child Discipleship model of Belong, Believe, and Become is deeply rooted in Scriptures. This is expressed in books, letters, and countless encounters between God and humanity.
Belong – Highly relational ministry showing we belong to God & God’s people, led by loving and caring adults (Romans 1:6, Matthew 19:14, 1 John 1:19)
Believe – Deeply Scriptural ministry rooted in the truth of God’s Word and the power of the gospel (John 20:30-31, Romans 1:16, John 3:16)
Become – Truly experiential ministry, designed to move children and youth from observation to real-world application of faith-based living (2 Corinthians 3:18, Romans 12:2, Acts 2:42-47)
We desire:
- for all children and youth to build lasting faith foundations, grow in discipleship training, prepare to be a Holy Spirit-led leader, and make an impact one disciple at a time.
- to be a Holy Spirit filled and led ministry, where God leads us and we obey Him.
- to encourage an atmosphere where children and youth are desiring to come learn about God’s Word.
- to lead boys and girls to accept Christ as their savior!!!
Each week, more than 4 million kids from ages 2-18 take part in Awana through more than 50,000 churches in 120 countries. Centered on the gospel, Awana uses Scripture memory in a fun, exciting environment to teach children and youth to know, live and share the gospel and to serve Christ locally and globally. The Josh McDowell Ministry reports that 69 to 94 percent of teens leave the church after graduation. By contrast, an independent research firm found that 90 percent of Awana alumni still attend church at least weekly!
What does Club look like?
A club night has 3 sessions: Game time, Large Group Time and Handbook Time
Each week at club, children work through small group discipleship handbooks paired with large group teaching, play active games, and earn awards as they move up through the Awana program.
Game Time – We play exciting group games, work on sportsmanship and encourage teamwork
Large Group Time – We hear and discuss a lesson/story from the Bible; interactive
Handbook Time – Having worked on their discipleship handbooks at home with their parents and memorized the week’s Scripture, clubbers are ready to recite and discuss with their leaders. They are given awards and other rewards for their hard work!
